Comments: In 1908 John and his family emigrated to America on the Lusitania.  They then went by train west to Los Angeles, California, then on to Weed, California, then by horse-drawn wagon to reach the family homestead in Siskiyou County, CA, near the Oregon border where they settled, raised wheat, and improved the property.
