Thomas and Barbara married at St George the Martyr in Canterbury.  They had one son.  Their marriage license, written on the day of their marriage, states "Robert Elvey, Sittingbourne, butcher, bach 22 years old & Barbara Tunnard, same parish, 22, father consents.  At St George, Canterbury".

Occupation: Robert was a butcher and for many years a church warden in Sittingbourne.
Robert was baptised in Tong, Kent, on 1 June 1670.  He must have been well-known in Sittingbourne, for in 1712 and 1714 the deaths of John Mannouth and Thomas Culler respectively are entered as "a servant of Mr. Elvy".  When Jane's mother died in 1698, she is called "Jane Witherden, the mother of Mrs. Elvy".
